The club originally formed as part of a local Sunday morning men's team - Clifton Green FC -playing in friendly matches in their first season. Although beaten regularly, we soon built up a good team spirit!
In the 1994-95 season, playing in the East Midlands Women's Football League, we remained unbeaten in the fourth division and were winners of the division cup.
In the 1995-96 season we finished runners-up in division 3 and were again winners of the division cup. In February 1996 the club expanded, entering a reserve team into the league and forming a junior section with teams at both under-12 and under-14 age groups, playing in the newly-formed South Staffordshire Young Women's Football League.
The 1996-97 season was the club's most successful to date, the first team winning both the League and Cup double, winning promotion from the second division to the now-named premier division, as well as being (sadly, losing) finalists against Villa Aztecs in the Birmingham County Cup. The under-12s and under-14s showed steady improvement in the league, losing to Lichfield Diamonds in the finals of the under-14s division cup.
The 1997-98 season saw us finish mid-table in the Unison East Midlands premier division whilst the Reserves finished respectably, just missing out on a play-off place. Our under-16 five-a-side team won their way into the All England finals, where we competed respectably and finished the only team not to lose to the eventual winners - Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The 1998-99 season proved to be a little indifferent for the senior teams, both finishing in mid-table positions. However, developments on the junior side continued with the under-14s finishing runners-up in the league.
The end of the 1998-99 season saw major changes to the club structure and management. Tom Stack of the Birmingham County Football Development Scheme was given the general overseeing of football development at the club. After appointing a new management and coaching team, we decided not to base ourselves at the Lamb (home of Tamworth F.C.) owing to continued high costs. At the same time we switched from East Midlands to the West Midlands Ladies League at open-age and under-17 levels, and Central Warwick League at under-14 and under-12 levels.
The club is now building in strength with the makings of an excellent youth development structure and, through our relationship with Rawletts Sports Centre, have secured a base for training and playing.
We are an FA Charter Standard Club, having gained Charter Club status in 2002 and Charter Community Club Status in 2004 (in conjunction with our partner club Coton Green FC).
